Light of Darkness
Light is a non-physical factor that contributes greatly to creating the atmosphere of both interior and exterior spaces.
Light is a non-physical factor that contributes greatly to creating the atmosphere of both interior and exterior spaces. The latter two differ in terms of definition and placement, and are in contrast with one another. Interior space is found in a closed building or structure, while open space occurs between structures like a film negative that typically plays a transversal role or no role at all. Taking into account the aforementioned qualities, an undefined exterior space represents a great deal of potential relative to the interior, and an opportunity for a completely different, new and contrasting lighting solution.
We focus on the creation of lighting solutions for outdoor atmospheres.
Using a well-conceived outdoor lighting solution, we do more than ensure adequate visibility at night. We also provide a feeling of security, create a link between man-made and natural elements, and build upon urban plans and architectural forms. We design lighted paths, highlight intersections, dictate dynamics, define areas, and create rhythm through compositions of light sources. Everything that daylight conceals becomes visible at night with the right lighting solutions. A new and different, and at the same time secretive but playful world emerges that we too frequently ignore or forget about. By designing public lighting solutions and through the creative development of night-time atmospheres, we contribute to the usefulness of public and private areas, and expand the living space of potential users, maybe even changing the function of that space, while ensuring multi-functionality in the context of sustainable development.
